In March 1990 the firm was bought by Pieter N. Kies as a sole proprietorship but later, in
1998, it was changed to a close corporation.

Meet Mr. Pieter N. Kies
Mr. Pieter N. Kies graduated with a BCom degree in Accounting Science. He is a
registered tax practitioner and a member of the South African Institute of Professional
Accountants.
Pieter was still in the process of completing his articles when he graduated from the University of Pretoria (TUKS) with a BCom degree at the age of 22. To help pay off his student loans, he did part-time work while completing his studies. This also made it possible for him to support his fast-growing family after getting married to Karen in February 1986 and welcoming their daughter into the world in October 1987.
Starting out, the company was run from the garage of his parents’ house, after refurbishing it as an office. As the business expanded, bigger premises were obtained to suit the needs of the business. In 2013 he bought a new building that was revamped into a beautiful office space which gave room to future growth.
Kies and Associates Accountants CC is a registered training centre for the South African Institute of Professional Accountants, where students can complete their articles. Through the years the Practice has been responsible for successfully training many trainee accountants.
